We have just made one pair of Herkimer Diamond earrings, set with a Sterling Silver cap and mounted on Sterling Silver French ear wires. The herkimers dangle from a 1 inch heart chain and are so cute! These are good size herkimers, although the pic we have isn't very good. The sun does not stay out for long here in Alaska, and so it is very hard to get a good pic, but this one will give you an idea of what they look like.
They are on auction in our ebay store.
We also have on auction a glass heart filled with herkimer diamonds. We have never done this auction before so take advantage of it! It does not come with the chain, although we do have one in the store with a chain
We also have our own website.

As we were traveling from Ft. Nelson to Watson Lake, we had the chance to see some incredible scenery at Lake Munzo. The water is a crystal green color, and even though it was foggy and rainy, was absolutely beautiful. The three hundred miles to Lake Watson was rugged, and the hundreds of miles of water was a pleasant distraction
We stopped at a little restaurant on the way to Watson Lake, and on the menu they had bear burgers, buffalo burgers, turkey burger, chicken burgers, and regular hamburgers. We opted for the regular hamburgers, but noticed that they had a distinct wild flavor to them! I hope it wasn't a bear burger that we ingested, as the bear is one of my power animals.
A few miles from the restaurant, we ran across some real buffalo along the side of the road. Lisa had to pull into the other lane, as the largest buffalo decided to protect our side of the road!! We took pics, and continued driving, only to come around a bend in the road, and ran right into another herd of buffalo. They even had babies!! Pretty incredible sight! Then we saw a couple of baby bears.
We wanted to thank our friends and family who have posted on our blog. It makes us feel as if you are with us, making it less lonely a trip. At least this way we know that once we left town, we were not forgotten, as you all are not forgotten. We miss you lots
Same goes for our new friends!!
We will be arriving at the Alaskan border tomorrow, as we are in Whitehorse now.

We decided to driver to Denver Colorado to avoid the strong storm warnings in Missouri. Lisa's son, David, lives in Denver and so does Lisa's sister Sherri. The back of our little scottie has a little damage, and David is going to fix it for us. We met with him and Tina at their favorite Denver bar, Hoppers. This is such a unusual hang-out, as they have volleyball tournaments on the back deck (which is the only place you can smoke since Denver passed the no smoking in bars law) They also have awesome live entertainment, so we enjoyed our evening very much. If you get a chance to visit Denver, this is the place to come. There's a motel right next store in case you have as much fun as we did!
David sends his love to his children, Little Man, and Katie, and wants them to know that he loves and misses them very much.
We still want to visit with Sherri, and will try to do so before we leave this area. Then its on to the mountains!! Canada, here we come!!

So many people liked out gator bars and bulldog bars, but wanted soap that represented their team-the Fla Seminoles. So we searched high and low for a mold and came up with the gold bar with the hand-painted Red Indian Chief head. The head is pinned to the soap, so if anyone wants to use it for bathing, instead of for show, they need to take out the pin which holds the head on. Lisa hand-painted the feathers, the stripes and the headband on the Indian Chief. It is really cute. We hope it meets with the satisfaction of those who support the Seminoles! Otherwise, we will have to try again!
Both of us are almost finished packing, and we are getting ready for the pig roast on Memorial Day weekend. I never realized how many supplies we had, until I had to start packing them up! It is a good thing we have them, as it will be difficult to order supplies until we get to Alaska.
We will be looking for our RV next week and hopefully we will find what we need. We will need a full basement, as we have tables on tents, and supplies up the ying yang!

Sometimes we amaze ourselves with the creations Lisa and I come up with! We have found a way to create an 8 1/2 oz hand-made gator with the University of Florida colors. The gators themselves are a blend of orange and blue and the outer layer of the gator is green. We are getting a lot of sales on this item from the Gator fans here in Fla. We just made up a new order of the gator soaps to send to a customer in PA. Gator fans are everywhere, aren't they?
I am getting packed and ready to leave the house, as it closes on April 30th. I am a little angry about this situation, because it is my opinion that my mother, who has some dementia, is being taken advantage of by members of her own church, and by her own son. These people are buying the house at $50,000.00 less than it was originally listed, and my brother encouraged her to take this offer because he wants the money from the second mortgage he has on the house back. It leaves my mom with no money whatever, and all the hard work I have done in the last two years in trying to make her safe in her last years, is for naught. She will not be able to pay off the debts my dad left when he died, and will no extra money for basic necessities such as medicine, unless she stops paying those debts. She has given her lawyer (a member of her church) power of attorney, and it is the daughter of the lawyer's brother who is making such a good deal, leaving my mother with nothing. Her real estate agent is another member of her church who is supposed to be looking out for her interests but is friends with the lawyer. Another member of her church kept gouging her when the air-conditioning unit kept going out. I finally took the ball out of her hands and got another air-conditioning company which fixed it right away. (Not a member of the church)
My mother shouldn't have to live by other people's terms. She has paid her dues. Shouldn't there be a law against people who take advantage of the elderly or disabled?
Lisa and I have a business that will do even better because we do quality work. We have to do it on our own time, but we get our products to people as soon as they order, although this may change to shipping taking a couple of days, depending on the closest post office.
We hope you follow our journey along with us.

I'll bet everyone is wondering why my first post has me planning on going to Alaska, and my latest posts have me planning the same thing! The truth of the matter is that I have been trying to get back to Alaska for the last 8 years. I originally came down from Alaska to help my sister get rid of an abusive husband. That little episode took a year and a half. She was supposed to help me get back to Alaska by doing the driving (I am disabled, and cannot drive long distances, so it takes me forever to get anywhere. The spirit is strong, but the body is weak!) Instead, she met another man and couldn't leave him, so I started out to Alaska in 2002 by myself. I got heat stroke twice, but managed to make it up to the canadian border before my dad called and told me he had cancer, and asked me to come home. I did, we got through the cancer and then he fell and broke his hip, and had a stroke. My mother, who was 76 at the time, could not lift my 300 lb dad, so I stayed to help take care of him because he was completely bedridden and couldn't help himself.
He died in 2006. Before he died, he asked me to make sure my mother would be ok.
I asked my brother to take care of mom because she was getting dementia, and really needed someone to watch out for her. He agreed, and mom went to Texas to live with him while I stayed and sold the house. That situation did not work out, so he took her stuff to Atlanta where we have lots of relatives, and she got an apartment. I brought the things that she had left in Palatka to her.
The house is now sold, and is due to close on April 30th. My cousin and I have a target leave day of June 1st, because we want to do the table at Porky's Landing in Georgetown, Fl on the 26th.
We sell several hand-made Herkimer Diamond items.
The "genie's" bottle is filled with herkimer diamonds, has a sterling silver cap, and comes with a free 20" SS Chain
The heart necklace is hand-wrapped with twisted SS wire and comes with a 20" heart chain.
And then there is a hand-crafted herkimer diamond ring. The herkimer is set in a SS setting and wrapped in a cane style
Herkimer Diamond is the "stone of attunement". While it is not actually diamond, it is a quartz that often resembles the sparkling clarity of diamonds. It can be programed to attune one to an environment, a situation, a quality, or most anything. It assists with balance on the mental, emotional and physical levels. It can be used effectively to clear and open any chakra. It relieves tension and thereby promotes peace of mind. Psychically, it's useful for auric cleansing and dream recall. Physically it can be used to heal addictions and remove toxins. Herkimer Diamond is associated with the crown charka
I like the Herkimer Diamond because it is a stone for my sign, and really helps when I do things physically I shouldn't be able to do.
The trip to Alaska is healing journey for both Lisa and I. Our obligations to others will finally be over, and we can work on healing ourselves.
